Our History

The Community Counselling Centre was incorporated in 1972 and it was originally named Family Life Centre.

The first service that we offered was Individual and Family counselling. All staff were volunteers with some social work experience.

In 1983 the first Executive Director was hired. Since then, the agency has expanded with the development of programs such as addiction services, violence against women’s programs, sexual assault program, developmental services, credit counselling and the Community Counselling Centre Employee and Family Assistance Program.

The agency today is an accredited organization through both National Employee Assistance Program and Ontario Association of Credit Counselling Services.
