What kind of information will I be asked to provide?
A trained intake worker will ask your name, age, and the details of your concern or problem. Certain demographic information is required for statistical and funding purposes. All information is strictly confidential.
How much does it cost?
While most services are free, some have a fee of service. The intake worker will inform you if there are any fees for the particular service you want. Fees are flexible, and payments can be negotiated.
Is this confidential?
Counselors are strictly held by professional codes of conduct. Confidentiality is the major premise of a professional counseling service. However, like other professionals we are sometimes legally required to report information. Other than these legal requirements, your signed authorization is necessary before any information can be released. You can also make special arrangements regarding the confidentiality of mail or telephone contacts, at the time of your initial call. At all times, your best interests will be represented and your right to privacy respected.
How long does it take to get an appointment?
Appointment availability depends on the type of service you are seeking. The intake worker will be able to provide you with this information when you call. How do I know if you can help me? The intake worker will assess your needs and refer you to a particular service. The intake worker will also tell you if there are any fees attached to your particular program. If we cannot help you, we will tell you at that time, and provide you with information and/or refer you to other resources available to you in the community.
